Roughly 20 minutes to liftoff: WX GREEN ALL THE WAY!

So it looks like our Sync Launch Event is a go too!

All,

Sorry that I had to get off of the TS server so soon, as I really wanted to finish listening to the discussions, but here in Orlando we're under a Tornado Warning until 2030 hrs (EDT) ...  Perfect timing for the Shuttle to launch when it did...

It was great guys, so keep me informed of any new Sync attempts in the future and I'll do my best to participate...

Thanks,
Jeff (AKA Bradley)  :)

I synced SSM2007 launch of STS-47 with todays real Launch of STS-127. It was so COOL!  Every simulated event was in sync with the real thing, only MECO and external tank seperation was slightly off. I started at the 9 min hold mark and started with NASA to sync the launch.

I want to congratulate the Ground crew and all the programmers for such a great job you have done with SSM2007. It is one of the best sims I have ever had!

Just finish polishing it off by geting some of the known bugs out and work on the voices some to make it sound more realistic and you will have a perfect sim that many will enjoy for year to come.

Once again, Thanks for all of the hard work you have done on SSM2007.. I really appreceiate having expercienced a synced launch and see how well the details of a real launch was incorporated in SSM2007.

 :D

I would like to see an exclusive avatar patch created possibly for use by SSM2007 Scrub Team / Synch Launch Team participants. Granted, we didn't go through what the crew of 127 did by far, but we were there ! Godspeed Endeavour, today's launch was a phenomenal event !

Well I guess I should go in order of number of people...

I only had one problem and that was that ET sep and MECO were pretty far off. Thinking that that isn't mission specific.

There was that and some other small snag(s) that were discussed in the after action de-briefing. Sorry you missed it, We could have used your imput. I think next-time around we'll be better prepared. I can definetely say I will.

It's just too bad launches are so far and few between......  :-\

Ya sorry I had to leave so soon after launch and barely talked the whole time. When we hit T-9 min and counting I can't think I am going crazy so I did the sync but did not talk. Too focused on everything.

Got to get to bed soon. Early flight day start tomorrow. Like 8:00am EDT. Thinking of trying the OBSS inspection live. Anyone who would be willing to attempt this join me on TS. Will do it if I can. Might have house work and other stuff. Plus got a model to work on that needs to get done.

I don't know about you guys but GC2 reports that at his end, MECO was @5s later than the real one - which is pretty good! He sync-ed to NASATV, not to the Teamspeak MC call so the KSC-to-local delays were eliminated. Except for the 5s MECO delay, everything else was right on the money and in sync with the NASATV video feed.

He ran SSM2007 on a dedicated PC and NASATV, Pocci's Excel macro and Teamspeak on a laptop. He stayed with STS-117 as initially suggested. Which mission did you select for the (finally) successful STS-127 launch?

Brainstorming with you guys after MECO was the real blast however. We are discussing how to make this hapen more often and how to maximize its benefits to us and the community.

we moved the missions around.
on the first scrub we went for STS-117
second attempt was STS-98
and the third was supposed to be STS-124 (but I was lazy and used my preset STS-98 saves).

but the changes in the missions were not officially announced (we agreed on it on TS) so it was probably a mission mix.

Ah, that may explain a few things. Anyway, here is another idea - not really for a Sync Event (although this is perfectly possible too):

What about doing the ISS docking in real time with the STS-127 crew? This can be another step for discussing the multi-player possibilities that were covered in yesterday's TS impromptu brainstorming session with GC2.
