Space shuttle Endeavour's third launch attempt is being threatened by the risk of an afternoon or evening thunderstorm in central Florida.

I suggest we continue our mission today to proof out the recent hold removals.
Here's hoping the real deal goes off tomorrow.

Pocci

OK guys,
tomorrow I have to work during launch time, but I will try to be with you.
Might just be possible, that I have to scrub my private launch because some patient is not patient ;)
For the time being, I have updated my excel countdown clock.
Now it is quite nice, but there is still some work needed.

In the actual version, which I uploaded some minutes ago, I have the rest holding durations, that I estimate from T-5h onward.
It is necessary to manipulate the hold durations not only minute- but as well second- wise.

(If you subtract the T-minus-time from the L-minus-time you get a rest total holding duration of 3h, 25 min, 35s.(The countdown-101 webpage indicates only 2h, 10m, 0s plus the T-9 hold (some minutes)))

However, if anybody want to look at it, you can download it here:
http://www.anaesth.med.tu-muenchen.de/Daten/Countdown.zip

Should groundcrew shed a look at it, let it be a mild look please.
I was just programmed quick and dirty during nighttime.
The code is not yet documented.
Bug reports are accepted ;)

Should we decide to rehearse on the original launch time, I would suggest to use my calculated/estimated holding times:
T-03:00 holding duration 180 minutes
T-00:20 holding duration 10 minutes
T-00:09 holding duration 15 min 35 sec.

Per SpaceFlightNow.com -- "Space shuttle Endeavour's launch postponed to Sunday" -- this sucks as I've been waiting all week for this launch... 8)

Yes, we had a very, very bad storm system come thru yesterday (actually over the last 3 days consecutive)... In fact, 3 people were hit by lightning on Thursday and 1 person died... we typically get something like 20,000 lightning strikes when real bad storms pass thru -- "Lightning Capital of North America".

Pocci: GL with your un-Patient - Patient...

As of: 1220 EDT - current weather is absolutely perfect ...

Unrelated: Was up till 0400 EDT last night looking at the stars with my new telescope (demonstrating for my 2 sons {ages 15 and 12} who just flew in for the Summer) [and I've only used it twice in the last month!!!]  - it was "mostly clear skies" -- which hasn't happened in more than a week+...

So: I'll plan to be on TS and see if anyone will be willing to do a test-run...

Wow we over here in Tampa area got some really bad lightning but it only lasted for like an hour yesterday morning. Yesterday things started to slow down over here. Hopefully they will do the same over there today.

Pocci

MC here,

I confirm that all of one shuttle launched on time.  ;)
At least on my side no thunderstorm damage on the Shuttle stack.
I hope that I can meet you all tomorrow. (Depends on workload in my hospital.)

OK, back to T-11h and holding for the next 7 or 8 hours.
Over and out

Hey all,

just in case Pocci is at work...

i'll be there tonite as well...so if we consider the same savestates, that Pocci suggested, we will meet 1 hour prior to launch, set with a t - 30 min savehold, hoping for a successful launch tonite.

Hope thats ok to you as well, Pocci?

CAPCOM over and out

Ok guys,

For it's sunday over here, and many (included myself) may have to work tomorrow:
I'll still be doing the synced launch tonite! Anybody who wants to join meets at 12am CEST (means 10 pm UTC). This will mean we are at T-1:13 min away from the realy lift off.

As there are still 2 holds included (T-20 min and T-9 min), this will be enough time to get everybody set up for the launch. Everybody who wants to join me, meets with STS 117 loaded at a savestate at T-30 min. That means we get enough time to set everything up...

Hope anyone will join me

/Marvx
