Patch 1.36 feedback
« on: June 28, 2008, 04:37:55 PM »
Guys, great patch!  Many thanks.  I love the way the point-of-view inside the cockpit now moves slightly when you zoom in and out, makes everything seem much more 3D.

The warning annunciators now active in the 3D cockpit is also a wonderful addition. As are the active Spec 88 display, and the realism changes to APU startup, etc.

I have one problem though, I'd like to know if anyone else has the same.  The analogue gauges on the overhead panel all work correctly in 3D cockpit, apart from one: the Cabin dP/dt.  This always shows a rate of about -.5, or the very minimum on the gauge.

Overall, though, I think this is one of the best patches you've come out with yet.  Thanks.

Nope, don't have Vuzix.  The camera POV changes when zooming anyway, I like it.

Found something else a little strange:  On drag-chute release I think I hear a voice say "RMS arm".  Anyone else?

Are you using iWear? If yes, then this could happen as Vizix requires a more powerful hardware to run at full spec. If you're not using iWear you should see no difference...

Just checked on our "reference machine" which you can see here .

Just completed STS-122 - saved at De-Orbit in 1.35, continued to touchdown with new version 1.36.

Folks, if you haven't patched up yet, go and get this immediately! Not only is the VC improved, but I would swear that the handling is now silky smooth.  Prior to this patch, I was having an issue on all landings with difficulty keeping speed under control. I did everything I could (kept pitch attitude high on the diamond, ran "S" patterns, used the Speed Brake manually - usually on all the way down), and she would still come in hot.

This time every change in attitude gave me an immediate (and gentle) change in speed, so it was very easy to control. Speed brake responded well with my throttle - I now have so much control that landing is almost effortless by comparison.

As far as the VC is concerned, very impressive, and indeed landing with it is far easier than before. I noticed that I can no longer "zoom out" quite as much, but that may be due to my video settings.

Hey...yep- I have noticed that analog guage problem as well and also the H2O pressure used to move up or down when I turned off and on the H2O PUMP switches on panel L1 (and the master alarm would go off too). Also since I have installed the v1.36, I have noticed that the 3 MAIN ENGINE STATUS lights do not turn on red when the engines have started during the launch (they did before the v1.36 patch), nor does the Master Alarm go off at the point during APU start when the HYD Pumps and APU FUEL VALVES, etc are turned on and you are supposed to check the HYDRAULIC APU Pressure (900psi) and cancel the Master Alarm sound. Well, there is no Master Alarm that goes off here (it always used to before v1.36 patch). IS ANYONE ELSE NOTICING THESE PROBLEMS AS WELL?

I like it but the only downside to the patch was that there was no new mission :'( but I did like the improvements.

Thanks ;D

Well, in case you did not know, writing a sentence in all-capitals is considered as shouting in forums, PMs and emails, even if you do not add a "!" at the end.
