When you propose yourself not going to bed until you hear the magic words : "capture completed"

Or "docking complete"...

When you begin searching around the internet, doing pricings on full-sized Space Shuttle cockpit and middeck replicas (I've done that <_<)...

When you contemplate spending hundreds of dollars buying a collection of every Space Shuttle mission lapel pin (I did that too after I lost all but my STS-114 pin from my smaller collection >_>)...

When you carry an STS-111 collector's coin in your pocket everywhere you go (I do that as well <_<)...

When you wear a replica ACES suit every time you do a launch or re-entry in SSM...

When you actually know what the acronym 'ACES' stands for <_<...

When you require checklists to complete every-day activities, like brushing your teeth or showering...

When you install a complex 50-button control panel in your kitchen to operate every single little feature of your refrigerator (Including multiple contingency modes)...

When the scariest nightmare you've ever had involved scanning for a button on the Space Shuttle control panels... and never finding it...

When you spend hours every week training for contingencies, such as flat tires...

When you put off work and stay up till 3AM watching a space shuttle docking on NASA TV, all the while wishing you could synchronize with it in SSM.

You can synchronize it. Just follow what's going on on NASATV and follow their cue - speeds, distances etc. You need plenty of time and patience - I've done it once :)

Yes, I *Could* synchronize it, but I was too lazy to, and doing so would detract from the excitement of watching still photos update every minute or so from the orbital docking system's camera =P

You know you're addicted when you stay up till 4:30am watching NASA TV, then go to bed right after watching the crew open the hatches/play peeka-boo with the on-board cameras (While fighting off the urge to finish the SSM mission you started a few hours before-hand). Time for bed <_<

...and there is no intervention or therapy to help you. Only enablers who cheer you on to the next comm. Welcome to our world.  ;)

When you begged for, AND GOT a "shift operations plan" taped up in the employee break room!

When you are told your shift is up and you accidentally ask "so am I supposed to eat or sleep now?"

When you spend your day at work thinking about how much cooler this job would be in zero-G

When you realize that it actually WOULD be cooler in zero-G

When you decide that "mission control" isn't doing a good enough job and ask to "scrub the mission" early

When you hear two managers arguing and accidentally hear yourself saying "Flight, do we have a problem?"

When you accept an early release from work to run home and play SSM

Spaceguy5

But the real question is... Are you on the Red shift or the Blue shift?

When you travel half the world to see the real thing,  yet you keep try to think what would be on the SP you are missing.  And then you eat burgers with other forum members and post it on the forum.
