Did you ever think about, that...

.. by releasing one mission per month, from now it would still take until around 2019/20 until only the historic missions would have been fully implemented in SSM, without all the planned extra stuff? :o

That just came into my mind today when I checked the forums for a potential new service pack / new mission ;D

I'm not sure all the missions are needed, a lot of them are just the same. but yeah, 134 missions would take a "while" to create.

Well from the business side, that not's bad in knowing your business can keep the same product (i.e. SSM07) for another 10 or 11 years.  That's pretty stable in an unstable market.   ;D

While many missions are somewhat similar, I do believe they plan to create every mission.  I think each mission will probably be better as the technology gets better.

Well, as you all can imagine, "some" missions will also be relased for SSM2010 etc. so yes, we are looking forward towards a long time of "partnership".

Just curious.... but is SSM2010 going to be a free upgrade to current SSM2007 customers or is this going to be a whole new simulation?
I need my SPACE!

What differences can we expect between 2007 and 2010. Will it have better graphics, more working features, etc?

Just curious.

Hopefully a 3D Middeck including the seat positions during ascent and entry just like we have it on the flight deck (and of course a nice viewpoint at the side hatch window). And I would also love to see the convoy after landing including the post-landing checklist. And who knows, maybe, like it was in the old Virgin simulator: the rollout from the VAB ;D Believe me, I would run the full missions without any time skip/accel (which I do already anyway) ;)

uri_ba

a full rollout?!? you have a lot of time my friend :) I get impatient just waiting for all the chatter to stop so I could timeskip again :)

I ditto Uri's comments.   While a rollout would be neat, time skip would very much be necessary. ;D

We've had this conversation before... Those of us ancient enough to remember 'Virgin Shuttle' would appreciate rolling out a time or two. I thought it added a nice touch, But I realize there are other "wants and priorities" on the list and I don't expect to see it implemented here. A mid-deck and some minor texture corrections are items that would enhance the experience greatly, IMHO.  :)

/Admin,

When do you expect to release SSM2010 and what new features will there be?

Thanks!

@ STS78MEMBER and uri_ba:

That's why I fly not more than only two SSM2007-missions per year, but that extremely prepared, using original NASA documents and manuals.

The same for the most famous payware flight simulation you all know about, which sadly is not allowed to be mentioned here. I fly an Airbus A320-200 (Addon) without any time accel too and without to skip anything (not even the exterior walk arround inspection). I fly the complete medium-range routes, up to 4,5 hours, while I have the full 2451 pages of the original A320 Flight Crew Operating Manual printed and filed in my bookshelf. I've read and learned every single peace of it, while using the performance charts for flight planning and execution, the real load sheet and of course only real Jeppesen charts. It all takes a lot of time (almost my whole free time), yes, but it's a real passion. Or just call me crazy...

My next and final step of hardcore simming will be the assembling of a fixed base Airbus A320 home simulator, starting in 2010, using one-on-one replica A320 full scale instrument panels comming from a nice home cockpit company. Do not ask for the costs. Without the required computer hardware (at least 6 PC's, 3 TFT's and the projector-system) and without the full case, it will be already about 15.000 € only for the complete instrument panels. But since I'll never get the chance to make my passion turn into my job (because of flightlessness: allergy and tinnitus), this is a nice way to at least fulfil a part of my dream I have for as long as I can remember :)

PS: If it would be possible to create "weightlessness" at home ;D, be sure I would build a Space Shuttle sim. But without weightlessness it would be just ridiculous to my taste of what a hardware-simulation should be like.

uri_ba

lol, home made vomet-comet :)

good luck with the cockpit, It will require alot of attention, money and caring, But from the little I see on You-Tube, that should be very rewarding :)

let me know when your done, I promise to come a see with my own eyes :)
