Newbie completed first mission Columbia STS1
« on: August 03, 2011, 06:30:38 AM »
Had a nice trip for the last two days. Still to work on my landing skills, but made it back in one piece.

Congratulations.

Thank you. No, i do not play in real time. i use the time acceleration.

But i spend a lot of time on the flight deck. Have to learn a lot about the panel and the switch positions.

Yes. It's probably the most complex instrument panels in aeronautics and space flight history.

Too bad that the manual I'm working on isn't finished yet. But I hope it will help some people in future, without the need to browse hundreds of NASA documents :)

Using printouts of checklist. Helps to flip all the switches in time. Just preparing for STS8 (one separate landing  ;D).
This sim makes a lot of fun. Looking forward to further missions.
