A note from USA~Driver
« on: November 16, 2008, 03:42:05 AM »
To the entire SSM2007 forum-

Looks like my computer has seriously crashed. It took many attempts to get in here and I don't know how long I got before she recycles for the umteenth billion time. I think I got serious processor or VC issues  >:(  I just wanted to leave some word here on where I went to, Not wanting you guys to think I just bolted.

The sad case is not sure when I'll be back. Not the time of year in my world for a computer breakdown. I'm hoping sometime in December at the very earliest, but prolly early next year would be more realistic. I will try to make my absence as short as possible.

ADMIN, I can understand if you lock and delete this thread. Again, I just wanted you all to know where I wandered off to. All I ask is that you leave it up for awhile to let everyone know. Uri_ba: Keep an eye on your inbox....

Driver.  :-[

Get fixed soon :)
I'm kinda in the need of a new Motherboard, which means: new CPU, Memory and GFx card as well. Expensive hobbies is PCs. Driver, drop us a PM with progress when you can.

A major PC breakdown would be a nightmare for me. I'd have to live in the real world for a change  :o

Man and if you are one who like to keep track of the mission and have a subscription to nasaspaceflight.com L2 than I would die. I couldn't imagine a worst time for it to happen. :'(

On at the ninety very soon, USA-Driver: I have suffered one month ago a mortal crash, and I know how do you feel... And yes, computers are very expensives, probably more expensives here in  Italy.

I hope you get repaired and back up here soon!  I get the feeling my computer could be going down soon.  Ahh the problems with technology.

For all who have problems, if the computer continually reboots as sounds is the case with USA driver, reinstalling the operating system should solve the problem; maybe even a system restore.

If you are PC literate and know how to install harsware yoursself, I upgraded my PC with a new M/B, 2GB RAM, 2.0GB intel dual core, and NVIDIA 8600 GT 512 MB graphics for less than $200 ordering from Tigerdirect.com. You might alswo need a new case, but everything else HD,CD ROM, etc can be used.

You might think that a dual core CPU will slow you down, but believe me, my frame rate is above 50
May the force be with you

My old PC had a habit of rebooting several times before it became stable for the rest of the day. I have since purchased a new PC, but it might be worth trying the reformat/reinstall XP routine to see if it solves the problem...

Wow. Thanks people.  :)

Still not sure whats up here... Seeing lots of random BLUESCREEN ERRORS and "LIGHTNING BOLTS" on my monitor. Going to take her in next week. I still think I blew my VC but could be a memory issue. ( I know, I'm guessing.)

Worst case is I rip out this VC and go with the default that it came with. Although I cant play any games, I'll still have a PC of sorts. It would also confirm or deny my suspicions. I've been doin my fair share of praying.

My day was uplifted by reading the responses in this thread. It was worth putting the PC back together to come back here. I was hoping it would react in kind but I got the lightning bolts and blue screen on first boot. So thats my deal.

I will try to get back here every few days. I dont want to damage anything further so I try not to stay on too long, Check Email and such. I just had to show up and say 'HEY!' and in addition, thank everyone for there advise. Today it was much needed and totally appreciated.

Pressing my luck, better shut down. See you guys.    Driver.  :)
