On at the Ninety
« on: July 28, 2008, 12:38:25 AM »
Although my wife doesn't play this sim, she absolutely loves the bit just before landing where CAPCOM / Crew say "Copy that, on at the ninety". If I have my headphones on I have to remove them and "crank up the volume" at this point. This is a genuine request from her; is it possible to access the audio file in order for her to have it as a ringtone on her mobile. This is a bit of a strange one I know but it is genuine. I understand if it is not possible due to copyright etc.  :P

I don't remember which file it is, but if you find it you may use it as a ringtone if you want :).

We do reserve our full copyright on the files but in this instance we allow the use of the sound as a ringtone only, provided nobody makes any $ off it.

Somebldy asked us to use the initial comm (when you first run SSM2007) as a file for Windows startup :)

Assuming Windows XP, from Control Panel, choose "Sounds and Audio Devices", and then click on the "Sounds" tab at the top of the window.

From there, you can choose what sound to play for different events in the "Program events:" pane at the bottom.

To assign a sound for starting Windows, choose "Start Windows", and  click "Browse".  Then you can navigate to the location and choose the sound you want.  For example, to use "On at the ninety" as the Win startup sound, just browse to "C:\Program Files\SpaceShuttleMission2007\data\snack\h345.wav", select it, then click "Apply", and you're there!  ;D

Thanks I might use the countdown.

When you first start up the program, and he says "Welcome to the Space Shuttle Mission", that's h252.wav, found in C:\Program Files\SpaceShuttleMission2007\Data\Snack\h252.wav.

I'll compile a list of what is what (main COMMs that people might like to use for their various windows sounds or ringtones), and if approved by Admin or the ground crew, I'll upload it here.
Finished: STS-1, STS-8, STS-41C, STS-27, STS-32, STS-31, STS-47, STS-88, STS-96, STS-93, STS-98, STS-99, STS-121, STS-401

The list may be obsolete as we sometimes move codes around.

Roger that.  After further inspection, it'd be really tedious anyways to list 100+ .WAV files when more important things need to be done.
