Hi, bjbeard!

Please relax. The SSMS 2 will be released at around Q4 of 2012 which is in December of this year. The SSMS 2 will definitely be released loooooooooong before my 100th birthday on April 7, 2073 which is 61 years from now!

                      Cheers,
               Vincent

Arghhhhhh, waiting for the release of SSMS 2 is like waiting for the space program to start being funded again. Oh well guess i'll set back, have a pepsi, and dream of better days to come  :(

Small update ;)

We all know that we've been awfully silent lately. You must believe us that there have been many moments when we feel that we must barge in and show off the latest things we're working on, but after the initial burst of enthusiasm, we just have to calm down and shut up. In this sense, we took a page from Steve Jobs' attitude to pre-announcements, at least until we have something "complete" to show.

Work is still going on as usual, however the latest things we're working on are interrelated and belong to one big and important feature. We don't want to talk about it (yet) or to tease (believe me, this is hard, especially for me) at least until it's ready.

This is also the reason why we didn;t release any Alpha to the Alpha team for some time now. We cannot release a version or news until we have the new thing completed to a "playable" level.

This is all we have to announce for now. The new Space Shuttle will lift off yet again - at least on your PCs, and much sooner than its successor in real life will carry human crews to the ISS and beyond ;)

As for me, I am going through ssm-07 for the forth time and re-living all the missions. So far, no hang-ups at all (including a perfect sts-51a mission!) and I include my Flight Sim X in the process! I fly from Ellington in Houston to KSC in an f-18 with NASA livery(no t-38s in the sim) before every mission. Then, after a mission, I fly back to Houston from KSC on a Learjet. For me, this really gives the full package of flight sim glory! lol! After I wrap up all the flights, I will "retire" SSM-2007 and await the release of SSMS 2. I'm on orbit with STS-31 now so I'll probably wrap it all up in time. You guys really gave me my money's worth and then some. Keep on Space Truckin'! =)

This is what flight simulation really is!

Awesome!

I do the same thing, I fly from Ellington to KSC in a T-38 or G2, and return to Ellington using a G2 on L+1 day Using Microsoft Flight Sim 2004.
In Houston keeping up with my training.

Cygnus... There is a T-38 for FSX, and a very nice one. Bit expensive, but may well be cheaper from Just Flight or some other FS add on seller. Have a look at this: http://www.milviz.com/fs/item.php?id=T-38A

Cygnus

Thanks Fodda! Nice model and yes, a bit pricey, but a very nice plane.

Cthulhus
