Have any real Astronauts picked up a copy of SSM2007? I would love to know what they think and would REALLY love to know if they get stuck on any comms  ;D

Well, I'm a pilot for Southwest Airlines, but I don't think that counts!! I'd also be interested to know. But it's one of those things, I find that flying 737 in real life is easier than flying the most realistic 737 addon in flight simulator, so it might be a tad bit "harder". I don't know, though.

For obvious reasons, active Astronauts will not disclose what they do and never provide any feedback, personal impressions or endorsement for any product - especailly for non-NASA products - without a green light from NASA. So no, we have no clue if any of the active Astros "play" with it.

We know that we actually physically HANDED a copy of the sim to one of the active Astros, but we don't have any feedback or confirmation if he/she plays/played or even activated it at least once. And no, we won't tell his/her name for obvious reasons  :D

That's about all we can tell about the subject.

Thanks Admin. From your response, I'm not sure I want to know anymore without Gov't clearance.   8

Well, this is not a "top secret" issue, it is more about "official gov endorsement of a commercial product" sort of clearance.

And of course - I hope too that he/she took a peek (or more than a peek)

Why don't try this with an old astronaut not active?

Yes, of course.
Sorry for my bad english!

Cygnus

Or you could say "former" astronaut.

Old Astronauts never die.....they just kick in the second stage.  ;)

spolvi

Retired or former are the same. You understood me.
Here in Italy we have two "retired" astronaut (Franco MALERABA STS-46 e Maurizio CHELI STS-75)

Una volta un astronauta, sempre un astronauta   :)

In effetti continuano a chiamarli astronauti.

I know more than one real pilots, one who is a pilot on a major airline, who are dedicated flight simulator fans.

Quite correct: even after retirement former Astros put the "Astronaut" title before their name. Same does the media etc.

But we're steering off course here.

I guess that the answers have been given (at least what we can disclose).
