SSM-Fans server Maintanance work

Hi folks,
I want to do some extensive backup and some re-arrangements on the SSM-FANS server in hope of a better performance and easier maintenance (who said there is no selfish motive here )

So the server will have down-time tonight (around 21:00 UTC) - a guess no more then a hour. and shorter down times tomorrow.

in addition there is another planned D-time on August 9th, for about one hour between 23:00UTC (Aug 8th) and 03:00UTC (Aug 9th).

It'll take longer then I expected - the copying of files is much slower then predicted. so don't panic if the EVA is extended.

Well I gotta go to my Cross Country Practice (EVA) for a while. That atta calm me down.

more downtime would be announced during the week.

Hi folk,
second round of maintainable is coming up tonight.
this time about an hour of downtime, followed by services coming up and down. (wiki, portal, TS and the image pad).

well the major part of the work is done.
if anyone notices anything out of order - PM or E-mail me.

all of you with "special services" on the server, things still might not work for you guys - I'm aware of it. check tomorrow, and send me a PM is stuff still doesn't work.

I've done a fresh install of the OS and moved the files, content and config.
I've yet to fix the passwd and shadow files, so there might me login problems and\or file permission probs
