Vinny knock it off! Badgering the devs wont make things go any faster. They will let us know when release is close.

Why couldn't one of those rocks have fallen on your computer???

Bit harsh maybe Mr Beard, but I do agree with the fundamental point that there is zero point in badgering any mods here about it's release.

There's news when there's news

Hi, bjbeard!

Please relax! I'm just asking Cthulhus a simple question about the SSMS 2. Thanks!

Unfortunately Vincent, I have a feeling there IS NO NEWS because noone has posted any.

I dont really want to see this as the next 42 page thread with nothing worthwhile in it, so please have some patience for some news to come from their direction.

There is nothing to be gained by constantly asking

Thanks!

Hi, MECO!

You got the point there! It is better to have the SSMS 2 that is developed correctly than release the SSMS 2 that bunch of bugs! @ DenisFerrari, nothing is stopping, the developers are just taking their time getting the SSMS 2 working properly, and they got the big feature they're working on right now. Please just hang in there! Thanks!

          Cheers,

there IS NO NEWS because noone has posted any.

Because there obviously isn't any news to be posted. Which pretty answers the question. No answer can be an answer as well.

Are we thinking 2013 or are we thinking 2014?  Whatever the answer is, it's fine, I just want to know whether to let it be and forget about it for a while or whether something is imminent.

Thanks for working a great program!

Hi, DenisFerrari!

No, no! The SSMS 2 project is not day by day disappearing! It just takes a very long time to work on the SSMS 2! Please just hang in there, the new SSMS 2 will be finished and Let's wait is right. Thanks!

               Cheers,

Seems a pretty dead project to me or at best an amateur one doen by people in their spare time in which case it could be years and years away. The fact we are not seeing any development diaries sems to suggest that development is very intermittent and slow.

Anyway, me, I never got past the 3rd or 4th mission in the present game so I dont even know why I am here. I suppose I am hoping that the next sim will be a little easier - perhaps with some customisability over the difficulty of in space tasks for example which are the things that stop people dead in the missions it seems eg trying to get satellites into the shuttle bay seems to be the real sticking point for me. There seems to be this invsible switch that if it is not hit in the game nothing will work and the only thing is to restart the game again.

I love the rest of the game its a shame I keep hitting these walls. But I know this customisability will never happen because when true hard core fans start developing games they never end well for people like me, who just want to 'pick up and play'.

Once games turn into hard core simulations thats when they start dying due to lack of general interest. I think that is what is happening here. I dont see this game going anywhere its such a niche game with a rapidly diminishing audience of hard core fanatics.

Games like this should strive to bring in lots of space enthusiasts especially kids. It will be a ral shame and a death knell for this game if this doesnt happen with the next incarnation whenever it appears. Theres no point in developing this fantastically realistic simulation if after all that work only ten people ever see all of it.

Anyway end of sermon...god rest another space simulator. Thank god we have Elite Dangerous next year.
