On topic - I severely doubt that any form of badgering of the alpha team is going to make the development of SSMS2 go any quicker...

Can we not wait for some official thread to be created with regards to progress instead of resorting to creating our own? After all they only end up going off topic, and resort to wild speculation where it becomes increasingly hard to remember what was actually fact.

I will tell you one thing that I really would love to have in version 2...the APU sound.   I love that sound.

I don't think another SSM 2 progress thread makes sense. As the first one already was, almost to the day (tomorrow) without true results for two years and more than 30 pages. Except people keep posting that they patiently wait or that others have to wait patiently.

I have to admit that some of you are indeed rather patient. It's a gift which I don't have to that extend.

Well....there are other things to do in life than just SSMS.    I have other ways to fly the Space Shuttle.    and I still have plenty of flights left in my current SSMS run through.    So....I am in no hurry to get version 2 out.   Especially before it is ready.   Certainly do not want to get the game, sit in the flight deck on STS-1 and then get bugs there punching me in the face.

Indeed, this is enough now on the development status questions. We've been given enough tid-bits, screenshots, and information about SSMS2. When it's done, or even past Alpha stage, the news will flow our way almost immediately I'm sure. Imagine yourself as one of the astronauts who had to wait for the "return to flight status" of the Shuttles and just be patient. I for one am enjoying my "retirement" flights of ssms2007 with STS-100 under way. May I suggest the same? Fly all missions in order one last time on hardest setting. By the time you're done, wait one month before asking about ssms2 status again.

Sounds like a good plan.  That is what I am doing at the moment.   STS-98 currently on orbit......

And I stream them from time to time so my friends can follow along.

I just watched the other thread and kept hoping. There were lots of rumors flying as to the exact delay of SSMS2, from personal problems to financial woes.

If it's the latter, I think just about every person on this forum would love to:
A) Have you complete a mission in alpha, and have us pony up the maybe half or heck, even full price of the expansion to "help" alpha test, or

B)A kickstarter drive, etc.

Loved the first one, looking forward to the sequal!
