I know two things about the release date of SSMS 2.  First, we're all hoping for Christmas...  Second, no one has promised anything.

Progress is slow on this one. don't second guess anything. Just wait for an announcement - all in due time :)

I haven't bothered reactivating 2007 since I assumed SSM2 was being released soon.

I'm sitting on the sidelines waiting to buy any new version - have been for a few years.

I kinda wish they would have released early and iterated. Even the 3D virtual cockpit would have justified the new release.

Anyway, hopefully it's not delayed to the point of becoming vaporware - that's all that matters.

...so strange SSMS team gave us screenshots of new verison...and for many many moths nothing more...not best way to keep customers and new customers around...

anyway...let's how release will be sbefore end of this year... but not so confident at this point  :-\

uri_ba

I'm pretty sure it won't be out by the end of the year.

There is a delay in the development process, due to a non-technical issue that surprised all involved, one that cannot be resolved as quickly as we wish. But I'm afraid I cannot elaborate more then that at this point.

But I assure everybody, knowing the people involved, they will, to the best of their ability, make SSMS2 come to life.

but Vinny promised us!

Yes, but Venny is not working with us as I know...

uri_ba summed the situation.

This is certainly disappointing news to hear but I/we/the community appreciate the feedback.

I hope everyone in the dev team are still well and the team is still intact. Last thing anyone needs at this stage is a battle over Intellectual Property or anything.

At least I maybe able to stop checking the forums daily now for any update.

Cheers

Hi, guys!

Is there anything that I can do for you guys to get the SSMS 2 worked out? And how is the Admin doing? Thanks!

            Cheers,

Thanks Vinny, but no. Unfortunately resolving the mentioned issues is just a matter of time. And there is nothing we can really do to speed things up.

Does this mean that the team cannot continue working on SSMS2 for now, until this issue is resolved?
If this is the case: What about a little update for SSM2007 in the meantime, with an additional mission or two?

Hi, DenisFerrari!

According to what Uri_ba was telling me, unfortunately resolving the mentioned issues it is just a matter of time. There isn't anything we can really do to speed things up. Please hang in there! Thanks!
