Real World issues (Work - make $$$ to pay bills, etc) have me too busy as well...  sorry 2

Pocci

I'll do a synced launch with STS-125:
Same Pad, Same Orbi-ter, almost exact the same time (only 3 days and 78 minutes away).
OK inclination (Hubble flight) is wrong.
In case of a scrub, I would recommand STS-117 beginning from tomorrow.

T-1:50 would be at 11:35 EDT (in 3 hours from now.)

I am not sure, if I can join Teamspeak. I am not at home. We'll see (or hear).

I love the idea! I will try to get the day off and join you!!!  ;D

It sounds complicated, but I will read this entire thread over the weekend and prepare everything on my side. Then I'm sure you guys will guide me through the time critical parts on monday... ;)

So exciting, can't wait! :D

edit: Too bad I've got no Facebook account, so I can't see what's going on there regarding the synchronized launch event...

Hi Ronin,

there is no need for a facebook account. Regarding preparation you can find everything here in this thread (I recommend reading the old posts here) and on the following website on the SSM fans portal:
http://portal.ssm-fans.info/index.php/blog/viewpost/73

Tonight or tomorrow I'll update my excel file and post here with which SSM mission I'll do the launch. Which mission you use is really not important. It is just nice to have approximately the same lighting conditions. It would be perfect to have the same orbi-ter on a late ISS mission so that the ingame narration would be matching as well.

The real interesting part of a synched launch is chatting you guys via teamspeak following the same event which we are all interested in using the same simulator we all love.
OK and it is really cool to have the same picture ingame and on NASA TV during and after liftoff.
It would be perfectly OK to just have any mission running in paused mode at T-0 and unpause on NASA TV liftoff if you are new in the game and just chat with us during the prelaunch phase.

Hi folks,

I found a nice time line with exact (to the second) times:
http://spaceflightnow.com/shuttle/sts133/fdf/133count.html
All times are KSC time.

For the launch at November, 2nd I will use STS-122.

/Armin

PS: I just recognize, that I'll be on night shift during launch. Sorry, no synched launch for me this time.  :'(

OK, I'm back in the team.

NASA delayed once more to Nov. 3, 03:52:13 pm EDT
That would be 19:52:13 UTC (or GMT)

Just in case, here the possible launch times for this week:
11/01/10 04:40:27 PM EDT (20:40:27 UTC)
11/02/10 04:17:56 PM EDT (20:17:56 UTC)
11/03/10 03:52:13 PM EDT (19:52:13 UTC)
11/04/10 03:29:42 PM EDT (19:29:42 UTC)
11/05/10 03:03:59 PM EDT (19:03:59 UTC)
11/06/10 02:41:28 PM EDT (18:41:28 UTC)
EST BEGINS
11/07/10 01:15:46 PM EST (18:15:46 UTC)

For those who want to follow from T-1:50:00 on, that time is 2 hours and 45 minutes before launch.

If launch does not happen until Nov. 7, it will be delayed to Nov. 24.

Count me in as well. I've read quite a bit on the project. I have my two computers, ones a laptop. I'll see if I can get teamspeak running but I doubt it will work or if I do get it working I'll only be able to listen.

Following NASA.gov, I thought the launch was delayed until Wednesday at the earliest. Then I read Pocci's post and was well confused.

Launch dates; 11th of March 2010 through to 11th July 2010! (WTF),  I realise that NASA sometimes get their "+"s and "-"s mixed up, but I hoped that the past and the future were more distinguishable. Then I remembered that over Uncle Sam's side of the pond, convention is often unconventional and you seem to have your own system of date terminology.

Fortunately I managed to work this one out all by myself, however and thankfully, my wife is always at my side when watching Judge Judy (who, to coin a phrase, "Rocks"), otherwise I'll be well confused ;D

This just in:

"Weather forecasts show only 20 percent chance of favorable weather for Discovery's Thurs launch."

We have a 90% chance of rain in our forcast for tomorrow all day.

Alboita

Still today we have a SCRUB!

Maybe the next launch opportunity will be Monday 8.
