Hi Forum,
I just wanted to report that all systems are go, And I have been able to recommence flight operation ASAP today. Recently I upgraded to a Saitek X52 and didn't realize some of the complications I would encounter with profile conflicts, The ubiquitous Vista bugs, Plus general 'life happens' issues prevented me from getting in the cockpit for a good month now. With the technical aspects solved, I'm able to pick up where I left off.. I needed some remedial, Seriously.
It took me about a half hour to get comfortable again... I'm serious...
I had forgotten how to turn on the RMS cam!!!! I almost had to consult the manual. I really felt bad for someone just learning because I was humbled for about ten minutes. I'm gonna have to re-learn to grapple with my new gear on STS-124 because thats where I left off. Presently, I'm at comms 1197, hanging out on my second EVA. I'm taking it slow. Getting use to this Saitek will be like going back to kindergarten.
So as my partner and I complete work on that second EVA, We were threated to a orbital sunrise and it was then I realized how much I really missed being up here. It's funny the things you take for granted. It was like the first time all over again. Can't take too long daydreaming because I have another mission in waiting (STS-32) And I need to get up to speed On Saitek / RMS operations and I have a long way to go with that. By the time the New mission is released, I want to be back on the 'Varsity squad.'
