Based on the promos, this is going to be awesome.  Especially since it's in HD.

Wow.....its going to be sweet. There is a part in the promo where you can see a red  helmeted astronaut emerging from a capsule with the Earth going by in the background, anyone know what mission that was from? Its at 1:10 in the promo.

That's Dave Scott exiting the Apollo Command Module (CM) on the Apollo 9 mission. This EVA, which was the first ever in the Apollo program, was performed by Scott and Rusty Schweickart for an outside inspection of the Lunar Module (LM). Apollo 9 was a dress rehearsal and the first manned test of the complete moonlanding hardware (including the LM) in Earth orbit.

Thanks so much for posting it. I sadly can't watch discovery channel but I hope this docu will be out on DVD one day...

It was a great mission and a milestone for the Apollo Program.

I've been looking forward for this for a while, if anyone has comcast and uses on demand you can watch a 42 minute piece of the second part covering the gemini missions and the first spacewalks.

Due to severe weather and the limitations of satellite television, I missed the last fourty-five minutes of the program.   >:(
