I would be very surprised to see any real astronaut on here.
They have access to the real thing, why would they want this sim?
I know someone claimed to be an astronaut,
but reacted violently when asked for proof.
This made him very suspicious in my eyes,
as all astronauts have to remain friendly towards their public.
NASA demands good behavior from their astronauts you know ;)

So, if there's an astronaut 'round here, I highly doubt he would make himself known.
But if someone does... all the better!
(as long as it's a real one of course, not just someone who likes attention)

Well, some real professional pilots fly the real thing every day but still enjoy FS... ;) so why would you be suprised to find an astronaut here?? (also "astronaut" doesn't mean Shuttle pilot... ;))

You're right on the "astronaut" part,
you don't need to fly the shuttle to be an one,
you can fly the soyouz as well.

But I still think a real shuttle pilot wouldn't visit the forums.
Perhaps if he had some problems getting it to work,
but then again, would he immediately say "hey guys, I'm an astronaut!"?

Ah well, only future will tell...
I really hope to see someone with "experience" here,
but I highly doubt it :)

I was talking to an Astronaut on here the day the sim was released. He also posted a picture of himself in his EVA suit. I don't have time to go look for the post but it is on here some ware. ;)

real astronauts here? Why not ? In flight Sim community, their is much real airliner's pilots ! So, why not the same enthusiast on the PC space shuttle simulation?

Because the group of astronauts is a lot smaller than the group of pilots! :p
We currently have 374 members on the forum...
what would the chances be of an astronaut passing by?
It is possible, but it remains highly unlikely in my opinion.

The Soyuz capsules aren't "flown" for one, and they are called "Cosmonauts" for two  ;)

Ah, Rdale aka the "witty one"...
One: Oh yes, astronauts can fly the soyouz as well! For example: Frank De Winne (Belgian ESA Astronaut, not a kosmonaut) went up as a flight engineer in the Soyuz TMA-1.
And two: Defenition of "to fly": 4. to travel in an aircraft or spacecraft

Back to you! :)
