It should also be noted that testing is not about getting an early sight of new software. It's about...er, testing. It can be dull and repetitive (I have run STS-1 in testing well-over 250 times!) and it can be hard to provide feedback in a meaningful way as rapidly as the developers might wish. Also, because YOU think something should be changed, it doesn't mean that the developers agree, and there's no guarantee they'll change things the way you might like (When is 'Ingress' the same as 'Egress', Alex? :-) )
Actually, the reward is not, as some seem to think, getting one's hands on the sim before everybody else. Rather, it is looking back at earlier versions and seeing how it has developed and the small part you have played in that progress.
I don't know if I'll be asked again, but I am proud to have played a tiny part in the original version.
I suggest that the original poster is careful what they wish for!
