SP-3.6
« on: June 20, 2009, 04:47:04 AM »
Great service pack! I have done STS-47 (Orbit Operations) and landing for STS-47. I loved it. The only question I have is I wonder if the real astronauts hit their heads as much as I did lol. ;)

Great Job Ground Crew. Hope the next one is with the mysterious RMS ops. :)

Thought I would put it in the same thread. What do you guys mean by this?
Service Pack Release Candidate #2 passed to the BT Team for final testing. If all is OK we move with the official release today or tomorrow.

Thanks just wondering. :)

Deep love for the replacement ADI ball.  :-*

And HIGH Z rocks. Don't know if it moves us faster (haven't checked), but it looks great.  ;D

"Release candidate" is just another phase in the "life" of software development:

- Alpha (version #)
- Beta (version #)
- Release candidate #X
- Release (version #)

For example, Win7 is now at a public RC4 I believe. If no critical bugs are found, it will evenually be followed by a full release.

Guys,

I had to split the topic due to the too many discussions about what collimation is and how it works. If you want to see it, check the Ground School board. Some unrelated posts were removed. If you want to repost them where they belong, please do so.

As for this thread, please DO NOT USE IT TO ASK QUESTIONS whose place is in the Help, Hints&Tips or Ground School boards.

Thanks,

Once again I want to shake the hands of everyone involved. I'm in the middle of STS-100 but am going straight to STS-47 again for the full "free-floating" effect. This program just gets better and better and I am boggled to think how SSM2010 could be better. Okay, maybe a fully functional 3D flight deck would rock, but I can wait for that. I'm still half a dozen missions away from completing my badge count before I cycle through them again!

This really is a Sim come true for me. Thank you once again(and more for the future) for making this and continuing to add to it.

One question; Is there a proper way to go down the hatch to the mid-deck? Seems like it's putting a round peg in a square hole =)

LOL!!! Yeah Uri is right, I had to read the Comm several times to completely understand how to "go down" to the mid-deck... it took a few adjustments (and some frustration) but able to accomplish the task all the way to the SpaceLab and back.

I had some family over for the weekend and I was demo'ing how the sim works and this new capability.. Tried to talk them into purchasing a copy and after the frustration I was having, I they said "and you call that fun?!" -- guess they won't be purchasing anytime soon.... but then again they're not the type for a "true" sim like this anyway...

LOL!! Love for extreme simulation with some extreme realism is an acquired taste :)

You'll never get casual gamers to sit down and use the RMS grapple anything - they'd rather go to the dentist!

Hmm - that's conjured up a mental image of a rather bizarre RMS op there. Thanks Admin.   :P

"...they said "and you call that fun?!" bradleyjs, my gf said those exact words.

Agreed, Admin. When I think about simulation hours put in over the years, I know I'm in a special group indeed. Falcon 3.0, Jane's Longbow 2, and the former shuttle sim took many weekends of my life. Who am I kidding? I voluntarily gave them away! ;)

Sorry about the question in previous post. More of a funny ha ha than inquiry.

Tight ship. I like that.  8)

I haven't touched SSM2007 for several weeks now (due to extensive "testing" of a racing simulation that I have....Power & Glory 2 for GTR2), but I intend to get back in the commander's seat in the very near future. My next mission will be STS-88 Endeavour, and I will get to see the ISS for the very first time.

Well, a small part of it anyway  :)

As for how SSM2010 could be better......there is one very large object that needs a new, high resolution coat of paint  ;)

Cygnus,

Sounds like we've got a lot in common...many, many hours of Falcon 3.xx and Longbow2 was definitely a fav....

Live Long and Prosper (for sim'ing)
