As noted......NASA TV's internet stream is about a minute behind as we speak.

I just don't get it.

behind what?
you have to get the real feed, re-encode it and broadcast over the insternet..

Behind the live events.  Spaceflightnow, CNN, MSNBC, etc do not have this problem, especially since they are using NASA's feed!

NASA TV's own feed should be the one with the smallest delay.

Spacevidcast is the best stream I think cause I heard they use satellite instead of internet stream or something. :)

NASA.gov's own feed comes from Yahoo, they don't directly distribute their own feed.

Hi Admin, I was just checking and updating my Excel launch countdown chart.

Here is my suggestion:

We should meet all together in teamspeak Monday, Nov 16, at 18:00 UTC
That would be:
Mon 10:00 (10:00 a.m.) PST
Mon 12:00 (00:00 p.m.) CST (or 12:00 p.m.? High noon  ;) )
Mon 13:00 (01:00 p.m.) EST
Mon 18:00 (06:00 p.m.) UTC (GMT)
Mon 18:00 (06:00 p.m.) West Europe (London, ...)
Mon 19:00 (07:00 p.m.) Central Europe
Tue 05:00 (05:00 a.m.) Sydney
Remember everybody eastward from India, this is Tuesday morning.
During the night from Monday to Tuesday.

For a synced launch time 1 hour 28 minutes later at 19:28 UTC (14:28 EST).
Everybody should have NASA-TV online via TV or second computer.
(If you Alt-Tab out of SSM2007 you pause the simulation!)

For the best experience for all I would recommend, that we all look at the same Internet NASA-TV stream, for excample:
http://www.nasa.gov/55644main_NASATV_Windows.asx

For those without NASA-TV I'll speak the countdown (every Minute, T-30sec, T-15sec and the last 10 sec) if necessary.

At that time NASA should be at T-33 minutes and counting with two holds to come.
(10 minutes at T-20 and approximately 45 minutes at T-9)

We don't know the exact planned duration at T-9 now, but we'll know, when we meet.

I suggest everybody to use STS-122 as this is an Atlantis launch to the ISS from the same pad and a launch time only 17 minute different from the official STS-129 launch time. STS-122 launch day differs 49 days from Dec 21 and STS-129 launch day differs 38 days, so the sun should be in nearly the same position giving similar lighting conditions.

Everybody should be already in sync with NASA or have the simulation paused at T-25 minutes, (after finishing the T-26 switches).
We should try to sync before or during the T-20 min hold and try to pick up the NASA countdown together at the end of the T-20 minutes hold.

To enter Teamspeak, go to one of the following pages
http://wiki.ssm-fans.info
http://portal.ssm-fans.info/index.php/teamspeakserver
and click on connect in the Teamspeak viewer area.
If you need help connecting, look at:
http://ts.ssm-fans.info

I advise everybody to rehearse the STS-122 launch and have some saves ready
at T-30:00 T-20:00 T-8:30 and T-2:00 minutes.
At least the T-2 minutes save is important, cause from that time on you can just sit and enjoy the launch.

Looking forward to hear you all on Monday,

Armin

Great set up Pocci. Don't forget we are in DST in the U.S. Not sure if you took that into account.
Also I suggest this streaming for NASA TV as it is a higher res

I will be unable to participate as I will be at the launch. Looking forward to it!

Spaceboy,
To my information, the USA is out of Daylight Saving Time (DST) since November, 1st this year (2009).
NASA announces the launch at 2:28 p.m. EST.
If your own clock is still in DST you might be an hour too early ;)
Have fun in KSC I would like to be there as well.

Your streaming link gets me only a black window today (yesterday it still worked, but was half a minute behind the NASA stream).

Just found a Teamspeak client for the iPhone: PhoneSpeex
I don't know if it works with "our" TS-server and it costs 4 euro.

ohh, and it's better to use the realMedia stream instead of the ASX.
It has less latency - so everybody are watching things at the same time.
(ASX's delay can be two minutes and more)

OK - Uri, yesterday I did not find your post with the links.
(Silly me, it's just on page 11 of this thread.)
I'll quote you here partly to make it easy for everybody to pick the same stream:
(the title of the quote in the next line links to Uri's post)
it is recommended to use the Real Media stream due to the nature of the broadcast - it's lowers the bit rate instead of waiting for the buffer to fill. [...]
Real media link:
http://www.nasa.gov/ram/35037main_portal.ram
you can save the links to the desktop (save as..). they are small files that launch the feed immediately.
