PCPilot July edition release, Demo on CD and Review
« on: June 21, 2008, 08:58:30 PM »
Hi all,
Just picked up my copy of PCpilot (UK magazine) and there's a review and demo of SSM2007. I'll let all get a copy to read it :) Back to creating a Middeck...

I know about the demo but haven't seen the review. I'm still waiting for my copy.

Yep, nice review. We got "only" 80 out of 100, though the reviewer sounds much more pleased than that :).

It is cool that we were the "Star Feature" on the cover CD and we also got the "PC Pilot Classic Product" badge :)

I would of said 9 out of 10 (I hate percentage ratings). To have the CD cover and the main feature demo, I would be proud.

They have never featured any 'bad' or average products in PC Pilot. I think there philosophy is to only advertise and review quality products, i.e. if they like it, they'll review it :)

Don't get me wrong :D. I am proud being on the PC Pilot pages, and in such a "massive" presence too! The mag goes in our "fame cabinet" for brag purposes of course  ;D.

Can this review be read online somewhere, or is it only in the printed magazine?

@Admin: Nothing wrong with bragging :D

@ Spacewalker: Sadly no, it's based in the UK. I haven't heard of it been exported to news stands outside the UK Isles. Although you can subscribe to it outside the UK. Wait and see if you could get a back issue in a couple of week or so. However, it has a more aimed at MS flight simulator audience.

Could someone, perhaps, type up the review?

That would mean breaching PC Pilot's copyrights. Sorry.

Thats a shame. I'd like to have a read of the article, I should go hunting for the mag myself down here in Australia.

For any Canadians around, I've seen both Computer Pilot and PC Pilot at Chapters.  Grab a Starbucks, buy the two mags, and have a seat at Chapters giving it a read...a great way to spend an evening :-)

Who wrote the review?  Jane Rachel Whittaker (writes under the pseudonym of Andrew Whittaker sometimes to avoid the "wow you're a female interested in flightsim!!!" emails) is an old acquaintance of mine.  I tend to read hers and then skim the rest of the magazine when I'm there.

Nice trivia! However the review was written by Peter Stark, who I believe hails from Down Under.

Yes I must admit I went to WH Smiths yesterday 1st July 08 picked up PC Pilot and had a flick through like you do and saw this simulation in there.  Got the wife to confirm that it wasn't a Flight Sim add on, and she noticed it was a web download, so Bob being yer dads brother, I purchased it as soon as I got in.
