lol wolfast. Spartanburg. I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Most shuttle missions will pass over us as they head for home, either doing a deorb burn or having completed it and just waiting for heating of the TPS to begin.

My current home (for the past year), shown below, is Buford, GA--at least I THINK I got the location right--we're right on the south shore of Lake Lanier, about 35 miles north of Atlanta...

I grew up in an even smaller town--Johnson City, NY, just outside of Binghamton (an hour south of Syracuse).  Also shot from STS1:

Thanks!

I live in Southern Maryland.  I live 3 miles from, and work at NAS Patuxent River.  It's about an hours drive from home to DC from here.

Las Vegas, NV.  But during my 25+ years with the Air Force (prior to retirement 5 years ago) I was stationed at Vandenburg AFB in California in the 80's when they were planning on doing Shuttle launches from there.  It never happened of course, but I've been to the launch complex there for the shuttle and it's incredible.  I also spent 4 years in Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado Springs, CO working SPADOC (Space Defense Operations Center) and 5 years at Peterson AFB, Colorado Springs, with Air Force Space Command.  You learn some cool stuff working in those environments.

I've been to Colonge... I was about 15 and I was there looking at the giant cathedral... *Amazing building* There was a McDonald's on the corner across the street... I'll always remember that McDonalds... I had to piss so bad and it had pay toilets!!! So of course I didn't pay and crawled under the door lol.... Oh yeah the entire square or what have you call it around the cathedral smelled like pipe tobacco... I don't mean a little I mean the whole block.. Great city though if anyone finds there way over there I recommend the stop
