A late update as usual! :-*
After a totally unnecessary hot summer that prevent almost any work besides hiding in the shadows and poolbath, things is coming back to normal again.
Still working on the detailed textures of KSC and EAFB, but we made a slight interupt to improve the atmosphere and sky during launch and on-orbit.
A real "cool" thing we discovered about Photoshop: When scaling textures the edge pixels gets involved in the re-sampling process of neighbour filtering.
All this turns out that there will be a visible seam around all textured tiles on ground.
Before we suspeceted it could be a photoshop issue we altered texture coordinates and stuff but it made texture aligning a pain in the a**.
Woosch, and another months of work almost wasted!!
According to Adobe forums the developers isn't even calling this a bug!! ::)

Apart from that things is going forward anyway. We have a little idea of uploading high resolution earth textures for the old 2007 version.
I guess almost 90% of todays graphics cards support 8192x8192 resolution textures, so its just a matter of replacing all tiles with a larger texture.
We will see later on if time permits and installer size.

Support and issuing of new keys is also still a frequent task, And everyone is waiting for the new version.
Some mails can be quite nasty, calling everything vapourware and so on. It reminds me of the old ugly free S3 version of the sim that got the same reputation.
But that one ended up quite well as SSM2007 in the end.
Anyway, if things keeps up and not to much unforseen things happens at our main work a beta should be ready by christmas with four full missions to test.

Things that still is unsolved is sound. We aim for real 3D sound this time and plan to incorporate the OpenAL library so we can kick out DirectSound. The less Micro$oft stuff the better.
As soon as some 3D stuff of the new launch pads is finished we can show some new pictures.

So, dont lose faith, live long and prosper.
Til next time!
