As I understand it, the hold up is with the Air Force and sundry safety offices certifying SpaceX's launch failure/abort destruction systems. Everything I hear from SpaceX indicates they are ready. Red tape rulesas always.

Yeah, they dont want civilians up in their domain. God knows (if there are ET's out there :o) civilians will report that stuff!

Seriously though, the military is exactly the reason I am skeptical that Space X will be allowed to launch the Dragon. This launch will really be the first civilian vehicle designed for humans lofted in orbit.
