First Mission Completed!
« on: April 14, 2009, 04:47:26 PM »
Just completed STS-1 and....wow, such a great feeling when I managed that successful touchdown at Edwards.

Next up: STS-93 and my first complete mission to land at KSC.

I had some hairy moments when I was worried that I would land too far down the runway...yea, odd thing to worry about during an Edwards landing, but I kept my cool and adjusted accordingly. Such a great feeling to land that beautiful flying brick!

Reading "Riding Rockets" and playing Space Shuttle Mission has certainly given me a newfound appreciation for shuttle astronauts.

Cheers!

I certainly did! Such an amazing game. I bought a copy a few months ago and put it on my laptop, but performance issues have made it difficult to complete missions.

After reading "Riding Rockets" over the first couple of days of Easter Break, I decided to purchase a copy for my desktop. Great frame rates and finally got to play with a joystick. That certainly made landing and attitude adjustments a lot easier.

I know the feeling, I finished STS-1 last week, and I caught myself sighing in relief as soon as I heard "wheel stop"  :P

It took me 3 tries but now I think landing is now my favorite part of the game!
