Hi all,

This is my first post so I thought I would take the opportunity to say hello to the forum.

I tend to mess about with simulations see what can and what can’t be done.

I have to say had I known about this simulation I would have bought it straight away but I did not until I was doing a web search one day so have only recently bough it, I think there are a lot of people out there like me that need to be reached.

First let me say what excellent work , I enjoy this simulation more and more , I hope the enchantments go on I guess for me more of the MFD functionality would add, but I am still finding thing that work that I thought would not.

When I first read about the simulation I noticed it stated that lunch was automatic, but I discovered it dose not have to be, turn of the two eyebrow buttons and you can fly the ascent manually, or make a mess and not make it into orbit, you cant jettison the tank manually so you will crash into the sea if you do this.

Did discover an oddment, if once you have hydraulics and the shuttle is still on the pad you turn it to manual and enable the flight controller you can move the shuttle about on the pad, the good thing is the engines gimbals as the should when you move the controller, but the whole shuttle move and lets you take of from horizontal.

It dose not matter, I mean you should not muck with that stuff anyway but just thought I would mention it.

As I say I tend to play with stuff to see what can be done, I do love this sim great work, I know I have a lot to discover yet about what is available.

I think the manual control "eyebrow" buttons on F2 and F4,CSS for roll and pitch you use if you want manual during reentry.... why you'd even try a manual accent I dont know?  :o

I tried it because It was there to try, why do people want failiures and stuff, it all about geting into and out of a situation, realisim etc. Like I said I like to play with stuff, I managed the manual assent without issues it is quite stright forward if you follow the cues and instruments, the roll is triky best let the automatic systems handle that.

I have to say it is very imersive this sim I have already lost days of life to it and I still find my self looking forward to the next mission with anticipation.

Greetings all!

I am also a new user and I am looking forward to trying this puppy out!

I became interested in the exploration of space somewhere around Gemini 7. All I really remember was coming in from playing ball and my dad was watching the news. I hear "3... 2... 1... ignition!" and turned around to watch a sleek and beautiful silver and black machine spew fire as it rose towards the heavens!

From that moment, I was hooked.

Then I met my friend Gary in 6th grade whose uncle worked in the space program. He advised us to write to any one of NASA's locations to request further information (now you have to buy the stuff from the US Superintendant of Documents  :'() and WOW; we got huge packages chock full of technical documents, posters, mission briefings... you name it! All free!

Back then anyway...

I even developed a sort of relationship with Walter Cronkite because you could tell he was not only reporting an event, he himself was very much in to the whole thing!

One of my greatest memories was when my dad got me out of bed to watch Niel and Buzz walk on the moon. Occurred around midnight EST if memory serves.

What a time to be a kid!!!! :)

As for the games, well, I've pretty much played them all from the old Atari cartridge shuttle porogram where you launched to see how many times and how quickly you could dock with satellites, to MS Space Sim, Buzz Aldrin's Race in to Space, A-Ok Wings of Mercury... and yes... that "other" sim.

Ok, well, I'm downloaded and patched... got the docs and checklists... se ya around the flight school campus! :)

As a recent convert I'd say; welcome!
I am still learning more and getting more enjoyment from this sim. It is a classic.
I can anticipate a next mission while at work, a sign of good games ;-)

Yesterday I finished the mission part of STS51, what an adventure. After a very difficult grapple I outed a loud 'yes' and treated myself to a fresh cup of coffee.
This weird sense of achievement makes this sim stand out.

Share your stories, it makes for a good read.
And the more you learn about the real shuttle and ISS, the more meaning this sim gets. Remarkable.
