Ok thank you for the Tip, ill now pause every time I get a new COM, I didn't know that was a possibility.

So are you also saying that during launch there are also switches to flip?

Hi there!

To early to tell right now. The idea has been suggested before, and it could speed up development later on. But we aim to finish a version much like the first SSM2007, with a few missions to begin with. (But hopefully less bugs :-[)

Hello sir!

If a flashing arrow doesn't disappear when you set the switch to the correct position you probably wasted to much time searching for the correct buttons in an earlier stage of the mission.
Until you get the hang of it I suggest you pause the sim when you get a new comm message. You can still scroll around the panel and flip switches while paused.
Usually you got lots of time, but there are one or two critical moments during launch that can be missed. It would be nice to know were in the mission this happens and if it happens at the same time every mission.

After 15 years of debugging I'm pretty sure all bugs are gone. 8)

Hi, will we be able to create mods/custom content for SSM2? Mostly curious about creating or own
mission's etc.

Best regards, Mikkel.

Space Shuttle Mission Simulator (tm) / is STS-1 Bugged?

I seem to keep getting stuck in spots, even when I flip a switch and follow the coms, sometimes it still flashing the yellow arrow on it.

Or sometimes keeps saying NO GO

Even though I'm following every com line for line, doing exactly as it says, is there something else I'm missing in this sim?

If the problem is that you have to let go of Hubble and don't know how, press 5 on your numpad to release HST. Otherwise, as Admin said, providing the comm. number you're stuck at would help :)

Hello sir!

If Hubble solar panels deployed before you opened the payload bay doors there must be a timing issue somewhere. It usually mean you have taken to long doing a specific task.

Its easier to provide support if you submit the comms.number. It is visible at the bottom of the info window, below mission time.

So after ground control opens up the solar array for hubble, it does this without the payload doors opening?

I'm stuck at this part with the coms:
RELEASE THE HUBBLE
AFT RIGHT CHECK END DEFLECTOR TO AUTO
UNGRAPPPLE AND REALESE HUBBLE
WHEN END DEFLECTOR......

I dont know what to do next, I have it on the easiest mode where it shows what switches to press, but this time its showing nothing?

Windows compability / Re: Init DirectInput Failed
« Last post by Admin on December 09, 2022, 10:27:26 PM »
Hello Sir!

The Resolution Fix Patch can be downloaded at our download page. But its usually not necessary to install that, but we take your advice under review.

Hard to say what causes your input problem. SSM2004 usually works flawless on all new computers. The DirectInput version used in SSM2007 is 8.0 and as far as I know it is the latest. The joystick should be turned off by default, so if the sim crashes from scratch it must be the mouse, or the main DInput object that causes the problem.

A well known problem is the poor support for input devices in SSM2007, so I cant really give much help from here. There is a DXDiag program you can run from Windows search list that can confirm DInput in general is working. Next, remove all devices and check if the sim works. Also, it would be nice to know if you are using any super duper flight sim gizmos that could cause the problem.

In the good old WindowsXP you could sort devices and stuff manually in a device list to make them work, and since that was the OS SSM2007 was originally made for we never dig to deep into device configurations. You can still use the old Joystick control panel, but as far as I know the only way is to run it is from the search console using "joy.cpl". Even calibration cant be done from the main Windows input device window.

Well, many words and little help as usual. But you got a couple of things to try anyway.

Regards!
