I just wanted to see different screenshots people are coming up with. I take different ones during missions and use them for my desktop. Show me you're best!

here is one from sts 103 :)

Great idea, Firefighter!
Some hints for a "technically" perfect shot:
1. Remove the MET window.
2. Remove the message line.
3. Note the mission, comm # or MET, together with any other explanation in the text accompanying the shot.
/Admin
Thanks Alex. ;D I do agree a good picture doesn't have the text or MET window.
Nice screenshot fwagner. ;)
Thanks guys for your cooments and tips When I post a screen shot next time it will be edited in photoshop first :)
I can't decide between two images:
The first one, which I think is STS-31:
Plus the second one on the same mission:
I love that first screenshot Ribbie. ;D
Robbie ;D
Thanks :o
Sorry Ribbie.......... ;D the "o" and the "i" are very close together. ;D
Here some pictures from my side :
The first one is during tracking of Hubble just above Canary islands

I wanted to add this shot to my best. ;D What do ya think? ;)
Hey Guys!
First, NICE SHOTS! All of ya!
Second, may I come with ANOTHER suggestion. It is quite annoying to be forced to scroll horizontally to see the shots and thus never being able to see the picture in its full glory. A better solution would be to resize the pic so that it fits the forum window width. That size would be @600 horizontal pixels. After resizing, make sure to slightly sharpen the picture a bit to compensate for the resizing resolution loss.
Have fun and keep'em coming!
/Admin
Nice pics guys!
BTW how can I post a full size image after uploading it? I have tried with the "forum URL link" (using Imageshack) but then it shows a small windowed image on the post.
I know I should use the direct URL link but isn't the direct URL link what I have used ?.. :-\
Just a test for size. How does this look Alex? ;D
(http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc290/Firefighterdan/ViewfromEVA-1STS-117-1.jpg)
I like that, perfect size too.
I will post all my pictures this size now. Thanks for the nice comment lforet ;D
Mine are a little big but I want their beauty to truly be seen.

Thats a good one DangerousDaze :)
I agree, very nice. ;D
Here's STS-8 launch just prior to ET sep (with contrast adjusted a tad). I'm just starting STS-8 now after successful completion of STS-1. What a wonderful sim!

I love the dramatic angles you catch these pics at. They even make the sim look more photorealistic! again, great job DangerousDaze! :)

You'll actually have this panoramic view once we release the TripleHead2Go support. In the mean time, have a look at the preview shots here:

Steven,
I suggest you resize the shots to a width of max 600pixels - as they are now, it is very difficult to view and appreciate them in one go. I assume you canceled the clouds display... without them the ocean is a bit "empty".

GODRA,
Whenever I click on any thumbnail, I get an IE window with an "imagebanana" logo and that's all... no SSM high-res images, nothing.

Alright, I've done it. I can't, though, edit that post. I'll post the links if someone could do it for me.
I'm playing with everything on low, as I like to right-click in the VC, still having an issue with that. I'll put everything on high if I could right click. ;) Awesome simulator, though.

I had just started and forgot to take out the comm window.
I see Uri_ba threw in a nice approach shot from STS-99. I've usually been a little too busy to take snaps during an approach, but I went ahead and shot this sequence on the STS-99 approach (starting "downwind" as we say in the aviation world). :)

usually I have no Time either (that's why you won't see Final approach screenshots from me :)) but the 90 mark is ok once you have the Diamod centered you got some time :)

WOW! I wonder how many of you REALLY followed up the full Chandra deployment and orbit to Apogee:)

In a similar fashion, I was kind of surprised that we couldn't follow the TDRS all the way to full deployment. The Comm stated that final deployment takes place after the shuttle lands. If we stay in orbit and accelerate the simulation, does the TDRS deploy at apogee?

Personally I try to follow all of the deployed goodies after they are on their own and find that a very interesting part of a simulation like this. I'm actually a little disappointed when I hit F1 and they aren't there anymore. :)

I like to see MET window: it remember me better the moment of the screenshot, and so the operation I was involved. I personally think that the window will not damage the view.
it's a matter of taste, I like to think of my screenshots as "pictures" rather then "spanshots". so no MET on screenshots from me :)

Hey Gang! I'm just cruising along with STS-121. Here's some pics of the EVA guys.
I've had this sim for over a year now and tonight was the first time I RV'd with the ISS and did any EVA stuff. Tickled me to death! Love it! ;D ;D ;D

Good one. This seems like a good time to ask if there are any plans to add trees and brush to the scenery? If you have ever been to the Cape, it is covered wit trees and low brush.
I love that picture uri_ba. ;D
Here is a picture to get everyone ready for STS-125. The real mission Payload will be a bit different due to the cargo change. :)

Well, you should have shown a HUD picture on final <g>.
/Admin
Sorry Here you go ;)
Hehe, there is almost no wind (judging by the VV location) so this must have been a very easy landing, almost like one without any crosswinds <g>. Are you sure you checked the "WIND" checkbox in the OPTIONS/SIMULATION window?
Incidentally - please try to resize the images to have a width not more than 600 pixels so that we don;t have to scroll horizontally (VERY uncomfortable) to see the rest of the picture.
/Admin
Ya sorry I was in a rush. I had to go somewhere and I did check the wind box? Nice middeck! Picture is to follow soon. : )

use FRAPS. the free version lets you take BMP screenshots.. then all you need to do is save in in JPEG with your favorite software

Thanks. It was orbital sunrise and still pretty dak below. I am far from a computer expert, I was wondering what everyone is using to edit screenshots? Some of them are works of art. Mine come out a little pixelated. Any help would be deeply appreciated.

I take them with fullscreen resolution then paste into a new image in gimp at the same resolution first. Then do my edits and resize to w600 locked. Hope this helps.

If you want to publish your screenshots here you should do this on a public server, not on a private server.

Maybe AVSIM Online have changed procedures after the major hack that they suffered recently? I have posted links to screenshots there in the past, and anyone could have a look....
Some shots from STS-96 and STS-98. I apologize in advance for not all of the shots being clean; I don't always remember to take the time to take a clean shot, unfortunately.

We all love those lens flares! Nice shot T-Minus. A hint: resize the shots to 600 horizontal pixels so that we can see the entire picture without scrolling.

Hmm I feel like something is missing. ???
Might it be the mighty P5 Truss?
Hmmm.... yep - no truss. Maybe it's before Deorb ;)

Yeah it is before deorbit, I knew something was wrong when I was posting it.
it has been a while :)

Resizing should not be done is straight "pixel resize" mode. PSP has a "Smart Mode" resizing which does not miss fine details. I am sure other good graphic tools have something similar.

Uri, it's strange because (and I have checked on my computer) STS 51A started from pad 39A but on your pictures it's seems that your launch is from pad 39B, but maybe I'm wrong?

Hehe.. Well.. Im not quite there yet... But Im hopeing to be there by the end of this upcomeing week. :3 I complete about one mission every day or two. But when I get there.. I will be sure to take lots of screen shots for ya. :3 :D
For now.. I will take screen shots of important things only.. such as payloads.. and space walks.. and of corse.. any really good views that I find. :3
Rocket Man,
Nice shots but some of them look like video frames. The TDRS deploy could have been enjoyed with one shot only, not of all the pre-depolyined positioning angles <g>.
Also, a very important thing: please RESIZE your shots so that they fit the width of the forum window. Now one needs to scroll left-right in order to watch the pics - this it's annoyingly difficult. The correct WIDTH is 600 pixles. If you insist in showing off the pics in full-res, then post thumbnails which point to the full-res pic.
Other than that, keep on doing what you've been doing: enjoy SSM!

More to come as the mission progresses!!
I still havent managed to get a screen shot yet. I have tried shift-prtscn and then going into photoshop and the pasted image is just all black. Ive done this before in other games without a problem with XP. I wonder if its something to do with Windows 7? I will have to try it out on other games maybe. Strange!

Done this zillion of times on Windows 7. Check your graphics driver.

May I suggest Fast Stone Capture?
A little program for making screenshots, freeware, but it's powerful and easy to use. Works fine for me.
Hardest mission yet! (STS-51A) Yet the reward is the 'For Sale' sign the guys held up...
BTW - I have the same problems with the black screen every once in a while. Some times it also takes a B&W pic instead. It could be PS as well. Make sure you close all open windows (in PS), take the pic, then open up a new window and paste. If that fails, close PS and do it all over again. Good luck!
I would recommend you try out FRAPS.
the free version can take screenshots just like the full one (only saves in BMP, but the full version doesn't handle the other formats that good anyways).
but you can take a screen capture instantly, without the need to ALT+TAB or hold a graphic software open (RAM consuming). (plus you get the option to take some video)
how can i take scrennshot in ssm2007?

Shift+PrtScn on the keyboard, paste in your favorite paint program (Painshop Pro, Photoshop, etc).

I looked into my collection and I like this one I took.

and this one
(http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk251/CrasVox/SSMS/STS-130-004-1.png)
and then this one
(http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk251/CrasVox/SSMS/02-Launch.png)
But lets be fair, it is so easy to take a good picture of the Space Shuttle. Such a beautiful vehicle.
:)
Very nice!
As you can imagine, you'll have plenty of opportunities to take even more impressive pics in SSMS2 ;)

we need some new pics! I will start. Just finished up flying STS-51A again. Obvious moment to try and re-create a classic picture.
I did my best to try and re-create the original, its close...

Hubble captured in STS-125
(Surely a difficult task to acomplish in the real situation, peolple involved in Shuttle development really made the humans go forward a huge step further)
Beautiful!

nice one ! ;D
Hi, guys!
I got the space shuttle Columbia STS-1 up to an altitude of 2,421 nautical miles!! I was going to attach the picture of the earth from an altitude of 2,421 nautical miles up but I don't know how to attach the picture on to my post.
Cheers,
Vincent
Paradise found. Columbia adjusting altitude during STS-01 mission. Orbit 130 NM.

I had to take a screen shot of this image of the Columbus Module on STS-122. This was taken shortly after opening the payload bay doors. Not really sure what happened, but the colors and patterns would change as I moved the eyepoint around. It kind of looks pretty cool. Anyways after saving, restarting SSM and loading the save, the Columbus Module went back to the boring grey :'(
