Title: Mods
Post by: Spaceguy5 on July 30, 2010, 04:56:44 PM
Just wondering... What is the development team's stance towards, for instance, community-created texture mods? I know some game companies are extremely supportive of them, while others get enraged at the slightest mention of them... especially on their forums =p

We know that some people modded some of our sounds/music etc. We have no issue with that. It actually makes us happy that people try to improve our product - it's a sign they care enough to invest their time, talents and effort beyond only playing.

Changing textures is a bit more challenging because we compress and encode them.

Basically, if a mod is good enough, we tend to include it in the product, so if you have anything in mind (or in hand) just send it over to the ground crew for evaluation.

I guess that's as supportive as it can get ;)
