Title: spacelog.org - Mission Transcripts
Post by: uri_ba on April 23, 2011, 01:08:36 AM
stumbled upon a new project, it has Mission Transcripts, in a very readable form. not sure if it will include STS missions (it doesn't right now), but it's a good reading material.

currently it only has mercury 6 (John glen), Gemini 3 (first manned Gemini), Apollo 11 & Apollo 13.

Interesting to compare the Apollo 13 transcripts when the explosion happened and see how calm things really were compared to the movie.

Yeah, the movie messed up a lot of things (Yet at the same time, portrayed things surprisingly accurately). Last summer, I was listening to Fred Haise give a presentation, and he mentioned that one of his favorite parts was when they were doing the burn with the LM, and the spacecraft kept jumping around with the Earth shaking out the window

You need a strong stomach and nerves (and the right mood) to plunge into all this stuff.

A really right mood.
