Title: Is that an Apollo era towner to the right of the VAB?

No it is the ML that was built the last 2 years for the Ares rocket but will never be used. The Apollo towers were modified to make the towers at LC 39A and B and the MLP's are the same as the Apollo ones, modified of course.

Yep, that's for the Ares project (soon to be scrapped as I understand) - more $$$ wasted ... But, sure turned out to be an excellent launch -- saw it with my own eyes here in Orlando, FL...   ::)

Wow, I guess Constellation WAS a huge step backwards... That fooled me really well.
