I stumbled upon the recipes for the "All American Meal": http://www.nasa.gov/pdf/567294main_American_meal_Formulations.pdf (http://www.nasa.gov/pdf/567294main_American_meal_Formulations.pdf)
This is a great way to experience the food that the astronauts do!!! I think I might make this :)

I love it how NASA calls them "formula" instead of "recipe". Sometimes they just can't help themselves. ;D

yeah, they have to be so official it is crazy!!! :D

Technically, food is chemistry, so "formula" applies :)

This is very true. It is just so official and technical sounding!!

There was an interview with the lady in charge of the "Food Lab", and he asked her why formula and not recipe, and she said it had something to do with it having to be the same result for both earth and in zero G, and make a lot et cetra et cetera, I don't think she was too convinced her self of not calling it a recipe, but yes indeed, it is food chemistry, that is why NASA calls the kitchen a "Lab", and thus we get a formula instead of recipe.
But it is by being so technical and precise that got NASA to the moon and back.
Now it is time for me to go back and finish my intermitten mission on board the resusable delta glider Shuttle module in my geo-gravity atmospheric vaccum hyrbrid enviromental simulator....aka Space Shuttle Mission Simulator.
