Hi there every one,
well sence there already a docking post just add my 2 cents, well for the first time I did my docking with the iss for the first time on sts-96, I dont have any pics but it was quite the experaince but I was able to pull it off of the first time.
I made a few mistakes (like comeing in to hot) but I corrected my veloceity and slowed way down just in time to get a great caputre. it was fun. and after I was docked it felt good that I was able to do it and I was excited to. ;D

Yes, the satisfaction of performing your first docking is really worth the patience, practice and hours you invested in mastering the sim. Have lot of fun!

well thank u Admin, I didnt think I was able to do it the verry first time after I drifted away from the ISS but after I relized that, I gave just a little to much thrust and had a lot of vlocity but at about 100 from the pma I was able to slow down and correct just in time and the it capured and the docking began. and I couldnt belive it, I did it.

STS-100 is technically my 3rd docking with ISS, but I think this is the first mission that requires the full TORVA procedure. The ADPS got capture and I was really pleased to get a "perfect" docking congratulations message.
I really love the way the STS missions and the sim gradually teaches you each of the required skills in turn. I remember being stuck on a rendevous and howto use the LOS properly. Now I've got the approach down to a tea. The previous ISS dockings were a bit of a cheat due to the "straight-in below" approach. I was really worried about how to pull off the TORVA as I got to the 600ft mark, but just assumed it would work the same as a quarter of a flyaround... To my surprise, it was just that simple!! ;D
Just wanted to write up my experience of my first "proper" experience. I know you vets have done this so many times its probably mundane, but I gotta take my space helmet off to GC for such a wonderful sim.

I'm still working on my first PROX OPS and Docking with the ISS.
