First off can i start by saying a massive well done to the devlopers of this program, a work of genius. I have had it since the launch date and am still getting to grips with the 1st mission, love the in depth operations involved.
I made a preliminary attempt at the STS-8 mission and came accross a big stumbling block with the RMS arm. Its taken forever to find the right attitude. This brings me to my observations. Whilst it seems virtually impossible to find the correct position for the arm to grapple the load, it can be done with patience and perseverance. I have noticed the threads asking for the joint angles and positions for the end effector and have resisted the urge to attempt to use them. Why? because i see this program as an educational tool for me as well as an entertainment program. I want to learn what the right positions are and if i spend extra time in orbit to do so i will. Surely this is what its all about, not getting the more experienced pilots out there doing it for you to then copy what they have acheived. Its been on release for little over a week and people are already complaining that things cant be done or asking for guides to spell every little detail out. There are a few niggles to iron out which im sure the developers are sorting out, i salute you for that.
My thought for the day, spend some time and effort to LEARN how to complete the missions. Much more rewarding in my opinion. I'll get off me soap box now.
