Well, at least it hasn't been a whole year since the latest update. :-[

Much of the time spent since last update have been spent on this site. After a PHP upgrade and the death of flashplayer we were forced to start almost from scratch with everything.
The good news about this is that we all got some knowledge in MySQL, XAMPP and other programs never used unless youre not into web development.

NOT as fun as coding and 3D implementations! :(

A more custom look of the forum is 90% finished and will be tested soon. The only problem that remains is that login error that forces you to enter the forum address in the browser to be able to log in.
Pretty sure that has something to do with our web provider or Simple machines forum.

As you can guess there's not much new stuff to show in screenshots, since besides the web issues most time been spent to fix bugs and improve things. Before starting more missions we decided to take a look at the sound part of the sim.
Tempted to add real 3D sound we tried the OpenAL SDK. Just to find that there were no SDK libraries for our old trusty Borland compiler. And the Implib function didn't work, so back to square one. But we are not giving that up yet.

Next issue happened when we added fog to the scenery. A miss-alignment of the KSC detailed overlay made the fog visible between the detailed overlay and the earth horizon. So everything needed to be adjusted, and while at it we added more structures to the KSC.

Not all bed news though. Using blending of layers we fixed lighted textures during night that fades in when its dark. In the old 2007 version there's a significant delay when the program switches textures at night or day shift. That's history now. :D
Also, improvements of the atmosphere has been made and is almost 100%.

When sound issues are finished this stuff is ready for beta testing. We hope to have a beta ready before next year. Its been said before, I know, but it has been so many issues with everything outside the actual sim development and it still progresses. So nothing should be able to stop it now.

And now time for some screenshots.

First, couple of images showing the light effects. Using original texture and blend with an alpha layer that adds light. This is the first mock-up, things will be fine tuned later.
