Hi everyone,

Nicholas, 29, I'm a CPL-IR student pilot in Strasbourg, France.
Like everyone here, when I was young, I wanted to be an astronaut. In my case I wanted to be pilot too & that's what I'm doing right now, unfortunately not in space like in my dreams (but I'm watching very carefully the privatization of spaceflights).

I bought SSM2K7 'cause I'm a fan of a lot of flight simulators (Flightgear, X-Plane, Eagle3D, Elite Pilot, Falcon, Fly!, Shuttle, Virgin Shuttle, Silent Wings, MarsFlight, Exoflight, etc...), and the STS is one of the most complex vehicle to fly, mainly because it combines a blend of old technology with new, a great challenge

By the way, if the game developers read this, hats off to you, you've done an impressive work!

Hello to all the people aboard!

Congrats to the developers of this marvellous sim SSM2007 and to all the hardcore simmers who make it better with tips & tricks, tutorials, wiki pages, and so on. I´m enjoying a lot reading the forum. My English is not native nor very fluent but I do my best for writing.

I´m a newcomer (total newbie) from Spain. Yes we have in Spain 1 & 1/2 astronauts with several US STS´s an Russian trips in their flight logs, including a few EVA´s: Pedro Duque & Michael Lopez Alegria. 

I downloaded the demo STS-1 and tried it several times before purchasing the sim and I´m highly impressed by SSM2007. Landing is no problem at all (I came from many many many flight simulator, civil and military sides) but yesterday i tried STS-88 for the first time an the RMS is another history... so its time for reading docs and training a lot!

(By the way, to active member Dee-Jay from France: I think we have flown togheter in the past some F4AF intl. mission. I´m from the 5Js, pleased to meet you again)

Hey guys! I guess im just.. Reintroduceing myself. I was once a member of this place wayyy back in the year of 2008 but then i became very inactive because of multiple HHD and computer failures. But now I AM BACK. :3 I see that alot of work has been done with the sim and it is all VERY good. :3 I look foward to remeeting some of you.. and meeting some new friends. :3

Oh yes.. I am extreamly pleased at the progress of this sim. It is VERY well done. :3 I have compleated STS-1, STS-8, and the Aries rocket test mission. I love it. :3 I also love the free float feature. :3 Very nice. Kind of hard to get used to though. :p

Hi there,

now indeed, here´s a German astronaut, I lived 16 years 1 KM away at cologne Porz-Wahn where each (at least) european astronaut gets his/her 16-month basic training, so it´s just natural that I joined here at least :-)

I played with the demo for a few days then purchased the game.  First time posting but I have been reading the posts for tips and tricks for about a week now.  Great sim.  Finished SST-51A today and I must say it was very stressful.  LOL.

Howdy folks!

I'm an Aerospace Engineer working down here at JSC.  I'm working on Orion, but I grew up with the Shuttle...it's been around longer than I have!  I was thrilled to see that someone had made a detailed full-system simulation of it!

I've got a lot of sim background.  Most recently, it's been Flight Simulator X, with the Level-D 767 addon, and Shuttle.  I was a TA in college teaching flight dynamics labs in an old Link motion simulator, and later on I TA'd a systems and automation course with the Level-D 767.  I've flown the KC-135 full-motion sim at Fairchild AFB, and have commanded the shuttle sim at Spacecamp (yeah, they have Adult Space Academy...go check it out!).  I've even worked on development for some "serious" simulations in the aerospace industry.  On top of that, I've got a private pilot license.

In other words, I've seen a whole bunch of simulation.  Probably more than is good for my health...

With that in mind, I've gotta say...y'all have nailed it!  Absolutely stunning!  It's definitely evident that y'all put some hard work into this.

I finished the STS-1 tutorial tonight, and am definitely looking forward to digging deeper into the sim.  In an earlier post, bradleyjs mentioned something about saying goodbye to friends and family...definitely add "sleep" to the list of things that this sim will eat up!
