It is simply when you are using the RMS and you are moving any joints say the Shoulder Pitch and you get to a comfortable speed or rate you press the R key and you can let go of all buttons and it will keep it going the same speed and direction. You can do joints at the same time to. Smiley

O, thank god, It allows more time to adjust the end effector and holding the joystick at a certain position can get very tiresome.

That is just awesome :o

It's the most spectacularly service pack. The mid deck is something I did NEVER expect to see included in this version AT ALL. Also, the winds is a very useful enhancement. Thank you a lot!

Now, with some things included I did not expect for this version, I can only guess what SSM2010 might even look like...  ;D

I wish the admin/dev team worked on a couple of MMOs I play. This is the best informed and best sim I've ever flown. Regular updates, content, and a very helpful community makes this, hands down, the best managed site/sim in my 25 years of sim flight.

Then you go and add the mid-deck with more realistic landings and comms??! I think I love you all!  :D Also, Kudos for using a fan created mid-deck section. That just shows a lot of class. Kudos to the creator of it as well!

Am I to understand that there may be another SSM in the future? That would be great, especially if ISS entry is possible, but I don;t see myself growing bored or tired of this current version anytime soon.

Can NOT wait for the newest mission! (But I will)

Can't wait to get home from work and install the new service pack.

Not to beat a dead horse, but with the crosswinds now, rudder pedals should almost be a must.  Any chance we got multiple controllers with this SP too?

Thanks for all the hard work!

I had a sneaky feeling that middeck was coming soon.  It looks GREAT!!!  I also like the fact that it gets the crew count correct.  I kind of felt bad for the poor guy on STS-93(95) who had to sit "downstairs" all by himself during launch/landing!!  LOL!  I'm lovin' this sim guys!!  Great work!!!
Missions Completed:
1, 8, 41C, 26, 27, 31, 88, 96, 32, 51A, 47, 93, 103, 99, 98, 100, 121, 116, 117

I sincerely hope that these crosswinds don't mess up the landings too much. It's already challenging enough to keep the shuttle steady on final approach.

You can switch it off in the Action/Options/Simulation menu on the main screen

Ah, that's good to know. I will probably switch it off when I want to record smooth landings for YouTube, and then switch it on for practice landings before I attempt the next mission (STS-88 Endeavour).

The "wind" option is mentioned in the latest manual version. Actually 99% of the changes in the latest manual version are around the new wind addition.

By the way, is the wind fixed in strength and direction and like the original conditions of the real mission?
Or do you roll dice each landing to give us a sort of surprise?

While landing is on the historical runway, wind is random (but always from the front 180 degrees to match the selected runway). So it is sort of a "surprise" each time you land ;)
