You don't need to register for Twitter to get the info. If you just click the link on the news page and bookmark it you are fine.

Well, IF this the case, then yes, no Twitter no inside info alerts. Twitter is a more informal and "real time" information channel so info there will not necessarily make it to the forum - at least not as fast. It is just like a streamlined blog.

But you don't have to join it to read the info. If you don't join it though you will have to check it periodically. It is YOUR "responsibility" to keep yourself updated.

If you do join, you will have the info "pushed" to you via email or even SMS if you want, so the info will reach you as soon as it is updated on Twitter - no need for you to poll it periodically. It is only a matter of how updated you really want to be.

Twitter is all about WHEN and HOW you want to stay updated.
