"Running to the Light"
« on: June 08, 2008, 08:56:55 PM »
Hi all,
I've made a screenshot, and I'll post it here since it's not my best shot. However there is a reason the title became "Running to the light".

This is the title of the song by the scottish group Runrig, which was selected by astronaut Laurel Clark as the wake-up call on the day Columbia and her crew died.
Later, an intact Runrig CD was found in the wreckage. This CD was later presented to the group at a ceremony in Glasgow by Laurel's husband and son.

And so I'd like to dedicate this screenshot to the STS-107 crew. May your and your fellow astronauts bravery and dedication never be forgotten.

Sincerely,
Sven

Hi again

I read the story on the cover of Runrig's "The Best of..", and it was so appropriate: The shuttle re-entering towards the rising sun - running to the light.

Apparently the CD recovered was the album called "The Stamping Ground". It is now on exhibition in Ulist, Scotland together with other Runrig memorabilia, collected in the more than 30 years the band has been in existance.

...and that is North Uist, not Ulist - just in case you are in the neighborhood ::)
