do NASA really wants to recicle the urine of the astronauts to drinking water?

(that's what I heard...)

They already do in that in ISS if I'm not mistaken.

and why not?
Urine is mostly made of water.
The renal system is used by your body to get rid of some toxic products like amonia (which is converted to ureum, which is less toxic).
So, by removing this ureum, you get perfectly clean water (with some other products in it, but these are not lethal).
Contrary to popular believe, urine is not contaminated by bacteria or viruses (well, at least not in healthy people), unlike feces.

I wouldn't want to drink my own urine......
even if it's cleaned

Anything you drink is recycled urine...
There are 6 billion people in the world, all drinking and urinating.
Add to that all the animals, insects, etc... who all have their own renal system.
Then also add the fact that our planet has known life for over 4 billion years, all of these lifeforms having some kind of renal system (even single cell organisms have to get rid of their waste).
About every water molecule on our planet has been part of someone's urine in some part of the history, so theoretically... you shouldn't drink anything :p

I can fully understand the feeling you're having, but it's all just in your mind. Just think about it rationally, and you'll see that it's no big deal after all :)

I would not care if I had to drink recycled urin. As long as I got to go to space and see what that amazing fealing is like then I wold not care. ;D

yea I think it's worth it...
