Hi Everyone,

I'm still very new to SSM 2007, in fact I haven't flown a mission yet. This checklist will evolve as time passes, hopefully for the better. I want to thank the creators and support crew of SSM 2007, without their time, effort, dedication and documentation this checklist would not exists.

Time to do more reading. Just one more thing, I could use you help in finding errors and typos, so if you see any please let me know.

Thanks
Mike

New Checklist - Latest Update
« Reply #17 on: March 20, 2008, 05:05:03 PM »
Hi,

Well, I've done a ton of work on the checklist. I think its getting better. The biggest change so far, I've added a Panel Section that shows the panel section that is associated with a particular panel.

Lets use COMM 55 For example. The Panel Section Is Overhead Right Panel and the Panel is #07. This should make it easier getting to all the shuttles stations.

I also started the De-Orbit & Landing Checklist.

I hope to have it finished and uploaded sometime today or tomorrow.

Mike

Just a couple of question on this great checklist (Keep in mind I have been only doing STS-1):

1. COMM 32: 8:53 is late, I have a saved game at 8:37 with the message window up to perform the instructions here. I believe it came up a little earlier 8:35 maybe which would make sense if it is just a typo (8:53 vs 8:35)

2. COMM 33: ITEM EXEC's state to use Left Keypad, message window from SSM says Right Keypad.

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I've recently noticed that the MET varies for COMM 31, COMM 32, and COMM 33 from flight to flight. Guess I'll change the MET to "VARIES" in the checklist.

I'll have a look at COMM 33 keypad commands (Left / Right Keypad).

Thanks

Hi HercMighty,

You are correct. COMM 33 should indicate "Right Keypad" not Left Keypad, this has been corrected.

As for COMM 31, COMM 32 and COM 33, I changed the MET to "Mission Dep." since the time varies from mission to mission.

I will get the corrected checklist uploaded to the ground crew.

Thanks for the help!

Michael,

First off, nice work!  You've saved a lot of people a lot of work and that's a fact.

Am currently working my way through STS1 and verifying your checklists as I go.  The reason I am doing this is not just to double check you, my intention is to work up a list of the comm numbers used in each mission with variations denoted.

The purpose of what I am doing will be to provide everyone with a set of mission specific comm lists so that all missions can be played on hard mode with a combination of your abbreviated checklists and my comm lists.  Hopefully this will work out.

At any rate, so far I've found a couple of things:

1)  Comm 5 - Panel Area & Notes should contain: Abort Advisory Check

2)  Comm 7 - Panel Area & Notes should contain: Cabin Leak Check

3)  Comm 9 - Panel Area & Notes should contain: Confirm Boiler Power On

4)  Comm 10 - Panel Area & Notes should contain: Open Cabin Vent

5)  Comm 12 - Panel Area & Notes should contain: Cabin Leak Checks Continued

6)  Comm 14 - Panel Area & Notes should contain: Load OPS 1

7)  Comm 20 - 3rd Procedure Item should be: Check APU/HYD READY TO START (1/2/3) Repeaters - WHITE (instead of Grey, even though I like the use of the word "grey", lol.  but the indicators look white on my screen and I assume for others this is the case as well).

8 )  Comm 24 - Panel Area & Notes should contain: APU Power-Off Inhibit

9)  Comm 26 should be listed as Comm 27 since that is the Comm number which is on the screen at T+00:00:00:44 when the radio comm is played and the Main Engines Throttle Down to 65%

10)  Comm 33 - Procedure section should contain one more item at the bottom which should be: Confirm ready for OMS burn by pressing EXEC (Right Keypad)

11)  You should add:

COMM 39 Center Panel C3 Confirm ready for OMS burn by pressing EXEC (Right Keypad) OMS Burn Confirmation

12)  Comm 45 - First entry in the PANEL column should be L2 not L4.

That's what I've got for you so far.  The items in yellow would be nice additions to your already outstanding work, but the items in red are very necessary imho.  Accuracy is going to be very important if this idea of getting specialized and complete mission specific checklists from your checklists and a cross reference to my Comm # lists are to work.  Hopefully between the two of us we'll be able to come up with something that everyone can use to fly all the missions on hard mode with accurate and complete checklists, rather than just memorization.

Will update you with anything else I find.

Take care and best regards,

"Greyhawke"   :)

Can the date be changed on this checklist in the download section to show that this list has been upgraded?

Without having read this post I would have assumed from the date of the download the checklist was the old version.

My thanks for this upgrade!!!

Enjoy,
Peter
